The Precious Possession

I am going to ask you 5 questions. You can please stop reading this if you haven’t experienced even one of the below mentioned situations at least once in your life:

1. I have lost a dear relation or more painfully a relationship
2. My family has suffered a great financial loss and left humiliated
3. I have suffered an illness or injury that left me bedridden for sometime
4. I have failed miserably amidst trying hard, mocked at, backstabbed or betrayed
5. I didn’t get that in life which I wished and desired the most

Yes, every one of us has endured the pain, cried our eyes out and lived through the dark days. And yet, have we been fallen?

Never…!

Every time the fate pushed us down, we only rose up with more strength, vigour, determination and wisdom like that of Phoenix from ashes. When we thought it was the end, life taught us it was just a bend for a better path for us to traverse. Surviving amidst sufferings, smiling through scars, shouldn’t we be proud of ourselves?

Yeah, it’s time to wear your coolers.

But wait, this shouldn’t blind you. After all these, what did we really learn?

We are much aware of the fact that fate may separate us anytime from our sweethearts. Yet, do we cherish living every moment with them? We are so engrossed in hitting likes to our colleague’s family photos but ignore to appreciate that family art of yours by the little Picasso at home. Gauged and glued to gadgets, we are lost in the virtual reality that we don’t enjoy the virtues of reality.

Had we ever thought of a second of life without our loved ones, we wouldn’t end up arguing. Great things are valued only when lost, so do our elderly and old friends. We never call or visit them but only cry how much we love and care when they can no more hear. We don’t get a second chance to say even ‘Sorry’ for things that happened. So in our busy life, shall we please stop a second, spare a smile, spend a moment and move on?

We know the pain of being penniless. When we regain the financial status, what do we do? Earn more, save more, invest more? Have we ever cared to look at someone who is going through the same Financial crunch as we just did? We live in a society where poor dead bodies are dragged home unable to afford ambulance. No empathy, No sympathy – Just apathy; Pathetic to be more precise. Things will change when it starts from every individual. Shall we please adopt a poor child’s education, buy a new dress to your servant’s kids on festive celebration, feast the orphans on your birthdays or at least donate a blanket to the old shivering out in cold? If you once see the smile of gratitude shining on their face, I am sure you will be addicted to see more.

Can we thank Almighty for creating us a millionaire? Wondering how? You should probably visit a hospital. Every organ is charged hundreds of thousands for being treated or transplanted. How do we serve and preserve ourselves? We very well know what to eat, when to eat, how to eat and why to eat but we only look for ‘where to eat’? Swallowing the junk, gulping the aerated drinks – where do we differ from ones who smoke reading the statutory warning on the cigar cover? If they are running towards the ‘Finish’ line, we are just walking fast. Who knows, ours might be a shorter route. Please take care of your health for you are someone’s only wealth.

We, humans greed when we have some and plead when we have none. Genuinely speaking, we all yearn for love, appreciation, recognition and motivation and work hard to somehow earn these but do we shower the same to someone who truly deserve? Therein Ego and pride sets in. How many talents were buried even before they were unearthed just because they were not recognized on time? We hail those whose succeed but so lowly criticize the ones who fail when we have not actually made an attempt even. Next time if you see someone down, go lend your helping hands even before they ask for. After all, a great fission reaction starts with just a little bombardment.

Having said all these, I am now going to show you a precious possession on your promise that it will be taken great care…! Should I tell about it – It is pure as gold but we rust it with our lust; it shines like a diamond but we make it whine; it is strong like a mountain but to it we do all the wrong; it sublimes with the sun’s might but we handle it too light; it is so fierce as a fire but we don’t consider its dire; it is so productive as rain but we don’t use it with sane; Eager to see it?
